Selling Antiques online?

What is an easy way of selling antiques?

  • My grandpa wants me to help him sell some of his "antiques" because he's cleaning out his shop. I was wondering what would be the easiest way to do so? He has quite a few things, so I feel like Ebay would be exhausting shipping things out but I'm worried about Craigslist and getting a whole bunch of unwanted spam. Maybe a consignment auction? But I don't know if that would bring in much money. Thanks for the help! :)

  • Answer:

The fastest and easiest would be a pawn shop, antique dealer, or find a nearby auction house. You will generally get around 50% of it's retail value, but they do all the work, collect, and deal with any unsatisfied buyers. If you want more money, a yard sale, flea market, Craigslist, newspaper ad, would be better, but there is more time and work on your part involved. So it depends on how much time and effort you are willing to put into it. I generally just take less cash money so I don't have to worry about it or do any work.
