What is the best place in Utah to camp?

Where is the best place to camp jet ski and boat in Utah?

• Its my birthday on may 20th and I want to throw a big camping party by a lake so we can have bomb fires and jet ski but IDK where to go?

  If it's only May 20th, you'd better head south to Lake Powell or Sand Hollow, the northern mountain lakes will still be pretty cold. Later in the season, Flaming Gorge is great for camping parties, because it's less crowded and has rafting, cliff jumping, and fishing in addition to waterskiing, not to mention plenty of firewood, whereas the lakes closer to Salt Lake City usually don't have places to have big fires, or else fires aren't allowed. If you have wetsuits for your boat, I would still recommend Flaming Gorge, if the weather forecast is good. Otherwise though, you'll need to head South to where it's warmer. Utah lake can also be less cold early in the season, because it's so shallow, and it definitely has places for camping and fires on the west side. If your time is limited and you want to stay closer to Salt Lake City, Echo is pretty good for waterskiing and usually a bit warmer than Jordanelle or Strawberry, though the water will still be cold until later in the year.
