Is it hard becoming a Bio teacher?

What to major in to become an Elementary School teacher?

  • I live in California, interested in going to a CSU. I am considering becoming an elementary school (k-6) teacher. I was wondering what I would need to major/minor in to become one. Also, all the other classes I would have to take. Another question: Could I still major in something else(at the same time) that is not similar to teaching, for example: Bio or Chem? I also am considering becoming a pharmacist. And if I want to get a masters in teaching, what kind of classes would I take after I receive my B.A degree? Please give as much info. as you KNOW (not guess/think) Or if you have experience, please help me! Thank You :)

  • Answer:

You would have to be an elementary ed major. Look on the college website and you should find the answers somewhere. It is possible to major in other things, but it would just be more work. It's been done though.
