What are the chances of getting HIV?

Do I have HIV? What are my chances of getting it with my situation?

  • Two weeks ago I had sex with a prostitute wearing a condom. She performed oral and then vaginal on the same condom. Ever since yesterday, I started sneezing and having running nose and is still continuing onto this moment. I also noticed that my diarrhea is different from the usual diarrhea I get. Do I have HIV? What are my chances of getting HIV? I'm really regretting all of this and this whole thing is just consuming me. Input appreciated.

    I've read that HIV is similar to many symptoms. I've also read many people don't feel it right away. The condom should help. Your worrying may also get you sick from the stress. Symptoms could be anything, and possibly not the worst case scenario. See a doctor about it. It will probably take a couple months before you can get an accurate HIV test. I know it's a long wait, I'm in the same position at the moment.

you should check that out and get tested, HOWEVER i seriously do not think those are definitive indicators, the HIV virus will develop in over 6 weeks and no in such a short time, but by all means you should get tested and specially if you are sexually active. In my case i started with a ''sore'' throat that refused to go away, then i loosed WAY too much weight and finally when i found out i had no sore throat but rather a fungal infection i had the test. Don't jump into conclusions buddy, you'll be fine.

No, you were a condom. You were never at risk for HIV. You would be a waste of resources to get tested.

if you used an intact latex condom you were protected against HIV. HIV does not pass through an intact latex condom. I see no reason for concern in regards to this situation. I think you are just nervous because you had sex with a sex worker and have preconceived notions about doing so but you did the wise thing by using a condom so just relax and put this out of your mind. yes. those are signs. not saying you have it. but go get tested, as soon as posible.
