What is the best camera and microphone to use for online videos?

  • I am going to be making videos for my hedgehog breeding business and I want the videos to be good quality crystal clear HD. There is just so many camera out there that I'm not sure which type I need or anything. I want the best quality I can get, for under $1000.

    I certainly hope you're going to abide by the code of ethics for breeders of the International Hedgehog Association. The world already has too many backyard breeders of animals of all types. One breeder went bust in Canada and let his/her herd loose outdoors, so there are lots and lots of idiots breeding. The most important part of any camera is the lens.

I would use my Canon Zr camcorder, MiniDV tape, they have a MIC jack, allowing me to hook any audio source into my camcorder. They also operate great in Manual mode, allowing me to shoot better video. The only way your going to buy a ZR camcorder these days is used, but canon does offer other MiniDV tape camcorders to this day. Find a Canon dealer and see what they have to offer. All consumer level HD camcorders, interpolate the video. In short, what this means, if a HD camcorder shoots a video, and it is 1000 frames long. Of those 1000 frames, 800 of them where not shot by the person holding the camcorder. Those frames were made, not shot, by the internal electronic circuitry within the camcorder, spread throughout the video. One frame from the lens assembly, 6 or 7 from the internal electronics, one frame from the lens assembly, 6 or 7 from the internal electronics,one frame from the lens assembly, 6 or 7 from the internal electronics, and on it goes. This is a complete nightmare to edit, motion videos are unwatchable. Have Fun Experienced Videographer, many Weddings, corporate video, legal videos, videobiographies and much more shot by me.
