Buying New Digital Camera Help?

Looking to purchase a new digital camera (not really brand specific but i trust Sony as a company) so i am looking in the 150-250$ range. I want it to shoot decent video as well as pics.I use a mac computer but am not sure if that really makes a difference and live in canada. I would really appreciate the addition of website reviews or personal reviews. *** Really looking for the best overall digital camera i can find in my location and price range so i hope some camera people can help me out.
