Do "right to work" state laws force employers to pay union wages even if the individuals don't join unions?
-
Or does it simply allow employers to pay 2 sets of wages, union and non-union? Which system allows employers to pay 2 different wages, union vs non-union? Are non-right to work states essentially allowing closed shop?

Answer:
i live in a right to work state and worked where there was a union. i was not a member of the union but was paid the same wages and benefits. I had to go with whatever the union and the employer agreed to in the contract. There were not 2 separate wage scales. EditL Right to freeload? I was an employee there before the union was voted in. I had to go with whatever the union decided to ask for in collective bargaining no matter how stupid the request. The Union where I worked was so good that 3 years ago the business I worked for decided not to renew the contract with the employees because the union wouldn't give an inch. Everyone is now unemployed. Am I freeloading off them? Lol yeah right.

This is hilarious. I just finished up an online course in Human Resource management and took the final online yesterday. When I saw this question it reminded me of a question on the exam that said True or False "All members of a bargaining unit, whether union members or not, must be represented by the union." I put false without thinking because it seemed absurd to me that non-union employees would have to follow the agreements set by the union, but after seeing this question it reminded me that the scores just became available as of 15 minutes ago. I went and checked and sure enough I missed two question with this being one. So evidently everyone, union or non-union, would receive the same pay and benefits.
