What is the cheapest/easiest way to get into Tibet (including getting the tourist permit?

Help! I can't get over how much I delayed in getting my permit!?

  • So I finished my online driver's ed classes in the beginning of December. THe plan was then to get my permit within the month and then around June I'd be able to get my actual license, which I could then use during the summer. However, due to school and I don't even know what else, I still haven't gotten my permit! Meaning I'm going to be able to do a lot (and I mean a lot) less over the summer, and I won't be able to get a parking permit for school next month (they're limited because we have a small parking lot). I have an appointment for next week to take it, but I just still can't get over how mad I am at myself for not getting it sooner, because now I won't be able to get my license until November! My main problem is, how can I stop getting so upset about this? Honestly, any time I think about it, or someone talks about getting their license, I just immediately start to feel so upset and angry that I kept putting it off. I try to rationalize that I wouldn't have my own car to drive anyways, so it wouldn't be that helpful, but It's just driving me crazy. Any advice?

  • Answer:

The person I get the maddest at, in the whole freaking universe, is me. Ain't that something? I get madder at me than I am at Al-Qaeda, the Pope, or Jeffrey Dahmer. That's pretty stiff competition, and I still am furious with...me. You f'd up, I f up, I hate it. I've done it before, I'll do it again. The only real thing you can do now is; acknowledge that you can be awful hard on yourself. That in itself is interesting. But then again, you did procrastinate pretty bad over something you wanted. So let me ask you this; what is the lesson you can take from this experience? That you have a tendency to procrastinate? That you get upset about things beyond your ability to fix? That you kind of set yourself up by f'ing up then being mad at yourself for it? Only you can answer that. And don't blow this off. If you can figure out what the lesson is here, perhaps you can keep yourself from repeating it. That is value added to your life. And I promise you, if you can think of the lesson, your anger at yourself will be less. gl
