What is a great private beach house to rent?

How to rent a beach house for the summer?

  • I'm a junior in high school and a couple of my friends and I were thinking that we could rent a beach house for the summer after my senior year of high school. I was just wondering what I should do. Like when should I start looking for a house? We were thinking that we could work to get money to pay for the house and whatnot? How much would a house cost to rent the whole summer, not a nice house, just a house? How many people would ideally stay in a house so it is not too much money? And also, not to sound corny, but are there people that rent to people and for their rent they work in a store or restaurant that the person owns...or is that just Jersey Shore ahah

  • Answer:

    1. You are too young to rent a house. You must be over 18 to legally sign any lease, contract, etc. Landlords typically require that you have at least a year on the job with employment verification, or else parents cosign. Some landlords refuse to rent to anyone under 21 (so they have 3 years credit records - i.e. long enough to establish credit, and track record on the job), especially for a house as opposed to an apartment. House rentals involve tenant responsibility for all utilities, and full responsibility for interior and exterior maintenance. 2. Summer rentals are expensive! Few will rent to anyone under 25. Short term rentals usually run at least 2-3 times what monthly rental rate would be on a year's lease.
