Why is my lip piercing so red?

Last time summer I got my lip pierced and everything went ok it didnt get infected. But a little while ago about 3 months ago. I put a slighly thicker bar in and it started to get red around it Ive had no pus or anything just red, I have since changed back to a smaller bar (around 2 months ago) but its still really red, Ive tried everything cleaning it with salt water with anti germ stuff ive tried moisturising it, I dont really want to let the piercing close up is there anything I can put on it so the redness goes away? thank you!
Answer:

The same thing happened to me when I got my belly pierced and I put a bigger ring in. You have to get a ring as the same size as your lip ring when you got it pierced. Also, give it sometime to heal don't mess with it so much.
