AP Pshychology or AP French?

  • Hi so next year is senior year and I have to decide between AP French or AP Pshychology. My friend completed both and when I asked him he said that to go with AP French because colleges may want you to complete your 4th year of french while pshychology is only good if you wanna major in pshychology which is what he is doing. Heres the problem, it's my senior year and I really wanna take pshychology but I also want to learn more french and not forget it...yet in terms of being easier and more fun pshychology probably takes the lead. Although I don't wanna regret my decision by having to take a french class in college which my friend said are quite different than in my school. -I wanna go to USC, UCB, or UCLA and possibly major in pre-med if that holds factors into this situation.

    If you MUST choose, an AP Foreign language looks very impressive. If you don't have to choose, take both!

Most colleges will have a foreign language requirement, so that's where AP French would be better than AP Psychology because you can get credit for passing the AP French test at many colleges and you probably won't need to take anymore foreign languages in college. AP Psychology does have the reputation of being one of the easiest AP classes though, but it may just be worthless credits depending on the college (like it wouldn't matter for your major or it won't exempt you from any classes), so I would probably go for AP French.
