What are the prerequisites for federal jobs?

• I have been rooting around the web for hours, but as a 16 year old looking through a cooperate website, it is getting very confusing to figure out what I'm looking at. I need to know several things. 1. what training does apple require for being a Genius, an IT guy, and if there are positions lower in the retail store, that as well. 2. Can any non-warehouse type jobs at apple be received without college training? The same question for geek squad. Thanks a lot.

  1) I applied to work in the Apple Store and was invited to some sort of meeting that is used to determine whether or not they will actually interview you. I did research online and found out that they generally won't start people out as a Genius. They want you to work the "specialist" position first, i.e. retail/customer service. So, your best bet would be applying for a specialist position and starting with that job. I think that if anything is required for that, it's retail or customer service experience and a passion for Apple products. 2) I don't know what you mean by "at Apple." If you're talking about a position with the corporate Apple headquarters, then you probably just need years and years of experience. But working at the Apple Store is not the same as working "at Apple." You don't need to go to college to work at the Apple Store. Same for Geek Squad. These jobs are basically sales/retail/customer service first, then tech knowledge. This means it's only a little bit better than working at the counter of a clothing store, including in terms of pay. You don't need college for any job like that, but they would prefer at least 6 months-to-a-year of customer service or retail experience.
