How do I know if an allergic reaction will occur again?

How do I know if a reaction will occur (10pts)?

  • Double replacement -what are the rules for a double replacement reaction to occur ???? Does one product have tO be soluable or do both have to be solid precipitates or what?????? Plz help show me detailed plzzzz

  • Answer:

Prime example for the solubility aspect is this one: Ag+ + NO3- + Na+ + Cl- -> AgCl(s) + Na+ + NO3- A solution of silver nitrate is used to detect the presence of chlorides. AgNO3 is completely soluble in water. If chlorides are introduced silver combines with the chlorides and drops out of solution because AgCl is insoluble in water. If AgCl was soluble, this reaction would not happen. Prime example for strengths is this one: KBr + NaCl -> KCl + NaBr This reaction happens because K is stronger than Na and F is stronger than Cl.

Never mind double displacement. A reaction will occur if a) a precipitate can form, b) a gas can form, c) H2O can form, or d) any other slightly ionized substance like CH3COOH can form.
