Are cats and dogs colorblind?

Why is it that liking cats- youre judged, but liking dogs- youre just a dog lover?

  • To begin with- I have two dogs and two cats. So I adore both of these beautiful animals. It seems people are so quick to judge and very unadmiring of people that love cats. I volunteer at a shelter. We have around 80 cats. A good friend of mine is a volunteer there. She was showing this family the cats, She knows a lot about them and all of their names. She told them everything about any cat they asked about. Then the guy says, "Wow. You must have a lot of cats" (referring to her own personal cats) Then she said, "No sir, I only have one cat." Like jeez! She likes cats, it doesn't mean that she has 20 of them! Then I went to the store today... They had a sale on canned cat food so I stocked up. I bought 50 cans (they had hundreds, so I didnt like take all their food lol) The cashier said, "How many cats do you have?!?!?" Then I told her I had 2 cats and she said nothing. Like wtf. LOL. Why is it that people are quick to judge us cat lovers but loving a dog doesn't automatically mean that you are a hoarder or a crazy animal person??

    Some people have never owned an animal....I love rodents epecially rats, cats and poodles.....so judge me!!! I don't give a crap what anyone thinks. My pets are well looked after and I have NO children and NO plans of having kids...my fur babies are my babies...now judge me!!! You should have told her you have 15 or something!! I spend $80 a month on my 2 cats, 2 rats and my toy poodle. Everyone knows me as I am from a small town...who the F cares. Big dog people are bog dog mentallities....some of them are CRAZY!! Just like cat people have their crazy cat ladies!!! It seems to a running idea that everyone who owns a cat has 2 or more...so maybe we are crazy....pretty sure you are just fine. But i do judge people that have 4 or more kids....so there are all kinds out there. Sad but true.

This would preclude, of course, that I actually give a shyyte about what other people think of me as a person....................... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ......................................… truth is, I DON'T ! ! ! I would think that my questions and answers in this section would have made that quite apparent. I apologize if I haven't made that clear.

It is a really good question. Cats are just known to be more annoying, smell bad with her cat boxes, and known to piss on anything, have a prissy attitude.. the list goes on. Most people who don't like cats don't realize that they really do make great pets. I adore my two cats. I grew up with cats and dogs my entire life, but I personally thing I prefer cats more, only because they are easier to train and don't require to watch all the time to make sure they don't chew up cords or the furniture! Also, hoarding cats is more known than hoarding dogs, there are dog hoarders out there but there are way more cat hoarders, only because there are more stray cats than stray dogs, so there are always cats everywhere, they're easier to take in, therefore easier to hoard. It breaks my heart that people hate cats so much. Around here, if you own a black cat keep it inside on halloween or I promise people WILL catch it and will torture it til death. I see dead cats on the road all the time, and this is why my two babies are inside cats ONLY.
