Do I need crossover for subs?

Do you need a crossover cable for a home amp and subs?

This will all depends on the subwoofer you have and amp. Most subwoofer now have their own cross over built in. Most receivers now also provide you a pre out to connect a subwoofer. Hope this will help you out.

No. Crossover cables are for computer networks not analog audio. Your AV Receiver does 'bass management' and routes low frequency to a LFE or Subwoofer RCA output jack on the back. You just use an RCA cable to your self-powered sub.
