Is there a way to find computer history after it's deleted?

Is there a way that the technical service guy can access whats in my computer?

  • Ok so my laptop charger stopped working and I cant use my computer because the battery itself was already dead. I dont know whether the problem is with the charger or something external with my computer which is why I was advised to give it to the service. The problem is, I don't want them to access to my documents. Not that I have anything nude or anything, but my brother uses my laptop from time to time and I noticed that he visits porn sites. I didnt say anything to my parents but if they find out he'd be in trouble. I deleted the browsing history but still worried. Also I dont want them to see my pictures, writings, accounts and stuff.. My friend said that they would only look at the computer externally and the only way that they can get access to my stuff is by restoring the computer because I have a password, and I would find out if my computer was restored because my stuff would be gone and my password wouldnt be there. Is this true? Should I be worried? Help please!!

they are to busy to look in your files they just have enough time to fix it --- advise -- store nothing on your pc Buy an external drive and store there and it is your charger you don't need to send it to a shop -- if it was the battery or something else you would have gotten a pop up on your screen

Could - yes, unless you have full disk encryption Would - probably not just to check the hardware. They'd probably just make sure it boots but not try to login. Unless it's a really slow day and they are creeps without adequate supervision. Which I really doubt. Unless you are a hot chick who looks like you have a load of naked pictures on there. I mean, they would lose their job if caught, and for what?

Tech people at computer repair shops aren't likely to care about your brother's porn. They may look at it, and they may look strangely at you when you go to pick it up, but that's about all. Why your brother does not use the tools that get rid of cookies, temporary Internet files, and LSOs is incomprehensible. But, if he's going to visit porn sites and then leave all that residue on the computer, the consequences can fall on his own head. [<-- This paragraph is meant to provide information that will help him in the future. The present may be out of his hands, but the future can be clean & bright.] Ordinarily, "tech guys" who are doing it for a living are too busy to be concerned with the average computer user's files. They want to solve the problem and get paid. HAVE NO FEAR! = = = = = = = = = = And, since the USA is a porn-addicted nation, and most "tech guys" are atheists, there's probably nothing pornographic on your computer that they haven't already seen during their Web surfing adventures.
