How To Write Research Paper?

How to Write a Research Paper on a Novel...?

  • I've been assigned an assignment for school that I just need help grasping. I'm not asking anyone to do it for me. I love writing papers, but this one is confusing me a bit. I have to write a four page RESEARCH paper on the novel, Catcher in the Rye. I read the book a couple months ago, and actually really enjoyed it, but I have no idea how to write a research paper on it! How do you research a novel!?!? In the directions, it says to be on the "historical and biographical background of the piece of literature". Please help as soon as possible!!

  • Answer:

I would focus on the time period, the author's history that gave him the inspiration for the story, aspects of news or society that he might have incorporated, an analysis of what the life of young people in that geographical area might be like, an analysis of particular landmarks or events that only get brief mention in the book... It's been way too long since I've read Catcher in the Rye to give you useful specifics, but I hope that gives you some idea about the type of questions you could look for.
