How can I keep the indoor pool warm?

How can I keep squirrels away from the pool?

  • I live in a community that has both large and baby pools. Squirrels keep jumping in the baby pool, drowning, and showing up dead in the drain. I want to get a cover. But, it may be hard to get residents to remember to cover the pool in the morning and night. Any ideas to keep them away, aside from a cover? Why are they choosing the baby pool?

  • Answer:

They need a way to get out of the pool. Just laying a board in the water such that it comes out over a dry area will allow them to climb out if they fall in. If you're worried about people forgetting to put the board back in, paint the words "save a squirrel, put back in pool" on it. Or put some kind of rope or netting along one side -- just any way for them to grab something to climb out with. Good luck!

they are probably choosing the baby pool because they are thirsty or maybe even attracted to the glimmer of sunlight off it. Like the other poster said just put something in there that they can grip onto so they can pull themselves out. Hell even one of those lil floating rafts( styrofoam preferably or tough rubber so there claws dont break it) or styrofoam floating (boogie) boards is better then nothing.
