IPod touch charger not working?10 points for best answer?

I plugged in my iPod charger and basically when you turn it on a button automatically turns red! So I plugged the charger into my iPod while the plug was on and the light was flashing but the battery sign didn't come up so I kept taking it out , unplugging it and trying again and it still wouldn't work. So I don't know whether it's my iPod or my charger Can someone please help

its the cable of the charger. try the original one or buy a new one

it is your ipod it probably just getting old or you broke something within the area you put the charger in and it cant charge.
