Question about my bakugan ability card?

MTG/EDH: What happens if an oppent takes my Intet the Dreamer, uses the ability and then I get it back?

  • I have a MTG rules question regarding EDH and Intet the Dreamer. If an opponent takes my Intet the Dreamer and uses his ability after dealing combat damage what happens to the exiled card? It seems to me that the "YOU" in his ability now refers to me, though my opponent used the ability and it is a card exiled from his library. If that is the case I would be able to cast the card he exiled. Couldn't find any actual ruling on it but here is a link to the card: http://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=124073

  • Answer:

Well, if your opponent was able to use the ability, he could still cast the spell because Intet is still in play even if it's not under his control. But this is only if he can use the Intet's ability. Don't forget that a player can only produce mana the color of his commander.

Other answers

No, it wouldn't change the player, and note how Intet says "As long as Intet the Dreamer remains in play" versus "As long as you control Intet the Dreamer" though if control switches as a result of Intet leaving play, it's a new entity with no knowledge of its previous existence, so that wouldn't apply.

Whatevers

"You" always refers to the person activating an ability or playing a spell. The owner of the card is irrelevant. It is not a different iteration of intet. That would only happen if he left play and came back.
