How Do I Crop A Photo Free Handed In GIMP?

How can i crop a digital photo so it is / and prints out passport photo size?

  • I am using photo film paper to print on, but as the photo needs to be 45mm height 35mm width, im having difficulty cropping the photo in ms paint to come out correctly, im wasting a lot of the phot film paper by having to expand the image in paint then re-print to get the 45mmx35mm size, and still haven't mastered it does anyone know how i can crop the photo so it will be exactly 45mm/35mm including the bavckground? or is there a specific program that does this? thanks

In the U.S. places like Sears or J.C. Penney photo studio can take a pretty good passport photo for about $20, using umbrella bounced flash. There are some places that can do it for $10, but they use ugly direct flash. Save yourself a lot of trouble and go to a studio that knows how to get it right.

MSpaint is too primative a program to be able to do this. to scale a print out requires a program that can adjust the print resolution of the image.
