Why does my computer turn off when I play Sims 3 Late night?

  • I have a Acer Aspire Z5700 And I really enjoy playing the sims and when I want to play it my computer ALWAYS switches off in the first 10 mins. Its really bugging my because,I want to play sims and now that my computer is turning off like 99.9% of the time I cant play it. Help please?

    Playing games is hard for a computer. All the components have to work their asses of to make the game run smoothly and make it look nice. When this happens, the components heat up. Luckily, there are fans all over your pc, too keep the air moving and blow cool air on the heat sinks put on the components. But where there is air, there is dust, and your computer gets a lot of it being so close to the ground. Dusty heatsinks can't lose their heat as fast as clean ones, and sometimes the fan cant blow fast enough to keep everything cool. A sensor in this component tells the computer 'OMG GETTIN' HOT IN HERRE', and in response the pc does an emergency shutdown to prevent melting. tl:dr Clean them heatsinks

Is your computer very hot when it turns off? It shuts off like that to prevent overheating. If you are overheating, clean out all the dust and hair from the cpu fan. Never play the game on a bed ot blanket, only on a hard surface that allows airflow.

Maybe your computer just has a general problem running the game. Me for example, had a Sony VAIO F11M1E which was very fast, and it fan games very quickly, but when I tried to run a particular game (which ok graphics, made in 2006) It would break. I knew other people with slower computers who could run the game just fine. Make sure you don't have many things open, as the sims takes a lot of RAM. You should also try uninstalling and reinstalling it to see if that works.
