Gas line vibrates loudly, similar to water hammer. A Humm or sometimes a loud jack hammering sound in the house under the floor and also the outside gas meter it vibrates on at random times sometime ones a month sometime several time a day at first i thought it was the water line and wasn't really concerned and I remember it happen more often when it was cold outside so i thought maybe the its because of the cold water lines are vibrating It vibrates for a minute or less so i could never have much time to see that it was until recently i was next to the gas meter when it happened. it started vibrating and humming ,I started to clime under the house in the crawl space to see what is was and the humming stops. PLEASE HELP Gas lines are under the 1 story home house has 2 gas furnace in the attic 1 gas fireplace that s used maybe ones a year 2 gas stoves 1 gas Tank less gas water heater 1 drum gas water heater outside laundry room with 1 gas Tank less gas water heater and 1 gas dryer someone mentioned a off balance fan vibrating in the furnace but in my case the vibration is under the floor not in the attic and the wall in witch the gas pipe goes up to the furnace dos not Hume. this started 2 years ego over the last couple of years i added an extra furnace and switched out the old drum water heater in the house for the tank less ones and ran a bigger wider gas pipe out to the laundry room were i have replaced the other old drum water heater to the second tank less water heater. Can this happen if there's not enough gas coming in appliances or too much? As i said before I recently i was next to the gas meter when the vibrating happened. I think the furnace was off and only the kitchen sink that uses the tank less water heater was on maybe the kitchen stove too I cant afford to pay some one to come and check this for me especially if they don't have an answer for me but its starting to concern me because i just found out it may be a gas issue ... Please advise I would greatly appreciate it if . PS it only vibrates when it wants too i tried to make the vibration happen by turning things on in different order no without any luck.

Answer:
Each gas meter has a pressure regulator attached with, inside it is a metal diaphragm and over time they go bad. It sounds like a mild chattering similar to water hammer but milder. Find and hold onto it as gas is being used and you should feel it. If it is, call the gas company as it is their equipment. There may also be an additional pressure regulator on another appliance you use.
