How To Sing?

How can i sing again?

• Before i was 6, i was forever singing, most probably off key, but i never cared. I thought i'd grow up to be a famous singer. I sang so much, my mom would have to tell me nicely to go sing in my room, because i'd sing when she was on the phone, or just needed quiet time LOL. But then everything changed when i tried out for kindergarten choir (aww.) I sang my little heart out, and my teacher told me that i have a voice that should NOT be heard. After that, i never sang again, and its been 20 years. Its something i've had to really struggle with especially when i'm put in a position where i'm obliged to sing (music class, church, with friends, at concerts, etc,) but i always move my mouth, yet no words have ever come out, unless i'm just talking. I've been bribed to sing for money, material things. My parents even bribed me with $1,000 to sing a song, but i just couldn't do it. I feel like i will never be able to sing, which is sad, because i feel its something misssing from my life. Anyways, in a few weeks, i'm going to be taking up piano again (i started when i was 8, stopped lessons at 18, now want to refresh my grade 8 skills again.) The thing is, is that the music teacher also teaches singing, and i'm really scared, but i really want to ask her if she can help me sing, but at the same time, trying to open my mouth and let words through in a sing, song voice is probably the most difficult thing i'm ever going to accomplish which is crazy i know. I just don't know what to do, or how to go about it. The rejection at 6 really bruised me. I am still not over it yet.
