How do I make a camera?

How to make my camera a "Go-Pro" camera?

  • My point and shoot camera is the "Sony TX-100 (waterproof)." I want to make a helmet cam, however I don't want to use a helmet. I see that Go-Pro has head straps you can use with your "Go-Pro's." I was thinking in buying a Go-Pro Head Strap and attaching my camera to it some how. Anyone have any ideas on how to attach my camera to it?

  • Answer:

Velcro might work, but might not. Depending on how the head strap works, you might be able to put elastic straps to hold the camera. Maybe in an X, to make a sort of camera harness? As long as the lens isn't blocked, it will take pictures/video. Just had a possibly stupid idea. Duct tape? Yeah, ok, stupid idea :)

I don't think the Go-Pro accessories would work. It seems to have a special mount on the waterproof housing. Something that screws into the tripod socket of the TX-100 would be too susceptible to coming loose. If your carpentry skills are good you might be able to make some kind of little wooden box that the camera can fit into that could then be attached to some kind of head strap.
