How to import Rhythmbox podcasts into Banshee?

What kind of microphone is best for podcasts?

  • I'm in an internet comedy group, and we plan to start making a podcast at some point, as well as record voices for videos in the future (i.e. flash-animated videos). We're certain that the built-in microphones on our computers aren't sufficient, so I was wondering if there were any recommendations on microphones for us to buy off of Amazon. To give a little elaboration, we're looking for a microphone that can record the voices of 1 to 3 people in good quality audio, costs (preferably) under $300, can sit on a table, and (obviously) can import to computers. If there's any more information needed, let me know. Otherwise, suggestions would be helpful. • Answer:

I suggest a large-diaphragm condenser microphone. If you buy the "standard model" you'll need to plug it into a mixer or audio interface that provides phantom power (use google to find articles that explain how condenser mics work to understand why they this). There are USB models available which allow you to connect it to a USB port on your computer. Do you have (or intend to get) any other equipment besides a computer? Some accessories you'll want: a pop filter to avoid problems with plosives, a stable mic stand.
