Can you tell how much are the tuition and fees in Malaysia Universities?

How can I pay for my own University tuition fees studying in Canada?

  • I am a student currently doing my A Levels and I plan on going to Canada, hopefully within a year or so, for my higher education. My aim is to study on BBA or B.Com since I am a business student. I want to try for the universities in Toronto, preferably UofT or YorkU maybe. I would really appreciate if someone assists me with the following queries. What is the tuition fee at UofT and YorkU per year (2 semesters) for Business department? Since I will be an international student, I am kind of clueless about the overall living cost. Lets say if I live outside the campus (in apartments), living a moderate student life, what will be the likely living cost? Most importantly, I know these universities can be very expensive. I really do not want to be a burden on my parents because I'll feel horrible if they have to struggle through to pay for my tuition fees, even though they also want a better future for me. I only want my father to assist me with first few semesters. After that I plan on being on my own. Can anybody please tell me, being an international student how can I start paying for my own tuition fees and living cost by myself? As in what kind of jobs can I do that'll pay me enough? I heard many people do it but I don't have a clear idea. I would really appreciate it if you can take some of your valuable time to help out. Thank you. :)

  • Answer:

University of Toronto's Business Administration program for the 2012-13 year is $30,623 for eight months (2 semesters) for an international student. Living costs (whether on campus or off campus), fees, and books will be over $15,000. York is virtually the same. That is about $45,000 per eight months. Unless you have large savings of your own, some type of international scholarship from your own country, a loan (from your home country), etc. then that pretty much leaves your parents or family. There is no possible job a student can get that will come close to paying that. Even a highly skilled professional would have a hard time saving up that kind of money in five to ten years. A part time student job might earn you $2,500 per four months and even a full time job over the summer maybe $5,000. Working in Canada is extremely limited due to your status as a student.

As an international student you may be required to prove that you already have the funds to pay for your education and living expenses BEFORE you enter the country. You are going to need somewhere in the vicinity of $50,000 per year (roughly speaking) If you are in Canada on a study permit, your opportunities for work may be limited to jobs available oncampus.
