How can i convince my mom to let me dye my hair?

• I want to dye my hair but my mom wont let me. she says if i dye my hair she'll make me dye it back to the color it is now. i dont understand this because shes letting me get a tattoo in 5 months for my birthday. i think a tattoo is a lot worse than getting hair dyed. she says it makes ur hair thinner and kills it from the chemicals over time. i really want to dye my hair tho. i always have ever since i was little. my mom lets me highlight my hair. whats the difference between the chimicals in highlights and stuff to dye hair? how can i convince my mom to let me dye my hair? btw is it hard to get black dye out of dark blonde hair(if i ever want to dye it back- if i ever get to dye it! :/ )

  Ask if you can use a semi permanent dye that comes out in 20 washes, in a colour similar to your natural colour, just a few shades darker. When she sees everything went fine, no problems, she may be more willing to let you permanently dye it later. You need to reach a compromise. Do your research and come to her with evidence that modern hair dyes are mych gentler than the ones from her youth and the risk of complication is very low in comparison. Also get evidence that symptoms (hair thinning) are only caused by frequent hair dyeing to the point of ridiculous, you do not intend to be so silly and that dyeing it once won't damage your hair. The chemicals in highlights are harsher than a darker hair dye. Get it done at a salon so she knows you're in safe hands. Good luck!
