How to find the host of any website?

How to find actual name (host name) of a server through website address.?

  • for instance i have : www.something.com now i want to find host name of the server that is hosting this website, how would i find that? i am on linux command line and windows command prompt i am not asking for name server or dns server. i tried nslookup, whois, dig, and few other thing but no luck. thank you in advance
