What kind of extra monitor can I install to my m1210?

What's the first thing to do after assembling a brand-new customized desktop computer?

  • After I finish assembling my desktop computer(all brand-new parts), what's next to do? There are questions running through my mind like: 1. Should I install an OS first then download and install drivers or it already have the latest drivers? 2. How can I install an OS? Should I boot and just place the OS cd then it will install in it's own? 3. Should I prepare first the necessary drivers of the hardware before trying to install the OS? 4. Motherboard, Monitor, Processor, Mouse, Keyboard, PCI-E card, Ram. Do all of these have their own drivers? Do I need to find and install each driver? 5. What comes first installing OS or drivers? Ohhh man, I really need help in this kind of thing. I don't wanna ruin my newly assembled computer by just doing something stupid on my own.

hi, if you bought the parts individually then they should have come with their own driver discs. ie. if you bought the motherboard it should have come with a disc for the chipset and LAN. if you have a wifi card then it should have come with a driver disc for the WLAN. now im going to assume that you have a second computer given that you were able to post this question. so first you wanna download the drivers for your motherboard from the site assuming you don't have the disc. if you just have an all in one motherboard ( no video card) then you will get the drivers for the chipset, panel usb ports and LAN. this is all you're going to need to start up. download these and save them on a flashdrive. now you put in the OS and reboot your computer. the screen should show text saying "press any key to boot from cd or DVD" just hit any key on your keyboard. the it will take you to the setup and if you're using windows 7 it's pretty easy. just follow the setup by installing windows on one of the partitions (this will appear as a HDD symbol) i usually choose the biggest partition. then wait about 45 minutes till the setup finishes and your computer will start. the resolution may be a little out of whack but that's normal without the VGA driver. now plug in your flash drive and run the motherboard drivers and install them. once installed you will have to restart your computer. once restarted your resolution should be normal and you can surf the web. you can now use the web to download the rest of the drivers straight to your computer. when installing the drivers it's best to install all before restarting. good luck!

Set the BIOS to boot from cd and install the OS. After the OS is installed insert your motherboard disc and install all of the drivers off there. Download and install video card driver. Windows should automatically install the rest.

you would install the os first i dont think you would beable to install the new drivers without it jus turn it on put it in and tell your bios to boot from drive

1. You need to install OS first. 2. Switch on computer and you'll find a command key to go Bios setup. From Boot option select cd/dvd drive as a first boot device. then save and quit from bios. In dvd/cd drive place OS cd/dvd. When you see a massage that's telling to press any key to boot from cd/dvd, press any key and wait. And then some options will come one-by-one. Chose or fill the required options (such as serial number of OS). Installation process will go through by its' self. 3. There is a motherboard driver which was delivered with your motherboard, that would be the first step to install drivers after OS install. I think there would be also display driver too. You can install monitor driver, printer driver etc. when motherboard driver installation will complete. I think if you follow my instructions you can solve your problem. Thank you.

Basically, you need to do a course in computer building before you do your own. When I fit a rebuild, I test everything bit by bit before closing the lid. Firstly, are all the parts I'v put in compatible with the motherbard? Are all the power connectors connected? Are all the cables and wires connected for sound, power button, and the little lights at the front that tell me that the hdd is working and that the computer is actually on? Does it boot up? Is the clock (time/date) set to the current time? Does it maintain the clock settings when I shut down and turn off power point? (I use old parts so the onboard battery might be dead causing the BIOS resetting to factory settings including the clock - time date thing) Have I set all the BIOS settings to my preferred settings like AHCI, primary video option, primary drive, boot device etc.. Basically, It takes me more than an hour before I'm ready to close the lid. Over the past 8 years, i've had 47 computers of which I've blown up 28 of them from not thinking properly and not putting the right stuff in the correct spots but I am using discarded parts so it is to be expected that some parts won't work at all and may cause damage to the motherboard if they are faulty. Enough of my drivel, just put in the OS disc (it should be a DVD data disk for Windows 7 or Vista) then away you go, just follow the prompts as they appear. It should take about an hour or so for windows 7 to install. You may need to download drivers for the video card but the onboard audio is usually in with the setup files. You won't need drivers for anything else, all else is standard like mouse, monitor and keyboard. Just make sure you select US keyboard layout (default option) regardless of your actual country.
