Marilyn Manson, poser or true artist?

• I wanted to see what people's opinions are about him. People call him a poser and a sell out, but I personally don't think so. I have a beef with people who say a band sells out when they become popular. Personally, I want success for my favorite bands, and I want them to be heard. His music isn't as hard as it used to be, and compared to other metal bands, it was never hard at all. He isn't the first in his genre, we all know that was Alice Cooper. But I feel manson was the only one that brought weird into mainstream. I still think is a very intelligent, articulate, and kind hearted person. So what do y'all think?

  I think Marilyn Manson is pure genius. I mean sure Alice Cooper was a big influence but Manson is much more deeper than Cooper, more along the lines of David Bowie, Cooper is more along the lines of Rob Zombie. Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals and Holy Wood make a rock opera trilogy that is so dark, twisted, and epic that it is genius. His new album Born Villain is influenced by MacBeth and the poem 'The Flowers of Evil', I recommend you listen to it. There is also so much subtle imagery in his outgoing image that you actually have to study it in order to notice. Also Marilyn Manson was never meant to shock, it was meant to portray how people and the world truly act. Hence why there is so much hatred directed towards him. If the world wasn't so messed up there would be no Marilyn Manson.
