Can you change the neck on a squier miniature strat?

  • Basically, Can you change the neck on a squier mini strat to basically a 1970's squier stratocaster neck? The guitar looks like this http://www.amazon.com/Squier-by-Fender-MINI-Black/dp/B0002F75K6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1336342857&sr=8-2 i'm going to try ad turn it into a tom delonge squier strat project :) thanks!

    Hello there, No. You cannot do that. Even if you get the neck to bolt on, the guitar will not be playable. Wrong scale length. The body is a short scale. Any regular size Squier neck is going to be a 25 1/2 inch scale. If you could mount the neck the guitar will never have decent intonation. The farther you play down the neck the more and more it gets out of tune. No easy way to fix that. This simply is a bad idea. Later,
