  It depends on what you consider a good choice. While it is a fairly stable market with good prospects for employment the pay is not what I would consider great. Rather the pay is low to moderate ranging from around $9-$15 per hour. This equates to roughly $16,000-35,000 per year. This can be a sufficient amount of money to live comfortably if you budget correctly. However, please note that this is a position where you learn a very specialized skill that is completely useless in almost any other field. There is little to no room for advancement. I highly suggest that if you do plan on pursuing this career that you check with your local community college to see if they offer the program. While it may take a little longer to get the certification, it will cost you about 1/4 the price when compared to the technical schools you see on TV. I advise you to take the extra time in community college and save yourself the heartache of high interest payments.
