What make of surf board should i get?
-
Does anyone know any good beginners surf boards for females? I'm 5'9 and weigh about 90 kgs. I would like to get a custom board as I've heard pop outs are not that great, and I was thinking of either a fish or a mini-mal.what would be a good size or brand to get? Thank you so much! :-)

Answer:
I would recommend a standard longboard in the 9-foot range. As a beginner, a mini-mal may be too small for you – certainly a fish would be way too small. If you can, I would borrow or rent a longboard first to make sure you actually like surfing. At your stage I wouldn’t worry so much about brand. Definitely avoid popouts, not so much because of their capability (honestly, most are in fact very capable) but to support the local shapers who put quality over quantity.
