What does the gold card cover?

Xbox Live Gold Memebership Card Region?

• Ok so, I've tried to get a Gold subscription to Xbox Live, there are 3 ways, Credit Card, PayPal or prepaid card: I tried with PayPal but I didn't know that you had to pay a subscription to them (silly me), then I tried credit card but my country (Costa Rica) does not support credit card payment, so I was left with the prepaid card option, so I asked an ambassador on Xbox.com just to be sure, they told me I just had to buy the card, input the code and voila! But I had to check the region in the card and that I should send Xbox Support and email asking, I did and their answer was completely useless, something like this: "Thanks for contacting us, we are trying to expand the Xbox Live experience to countries like Costa Rica to make the world better and prettier" And I was asking what region should I buy the damn card, so i am re-asking here: I live in Costa Rica, what region card should I get for it to work? Or are the card region free? What the hell do I have to do?

  Prepaid Gold subscription cards work in any country Xbox Live is available. The problem you may have is that Xbox Live isn't available in Costa Rica yet so you have to set your account to one that does have it. You can see the list of countries here http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/countries I suggest one that is near you to reduce lag in multiplayer which it seems would be Mexico or Colombia. I don't think Live is officially available in Central America yet. You will still have problems with downloading certain DLC. Your IP address will conflict with the country your account is set it to and it won't let you download it. -If Costa Rica does get access to Live later, you can move your account to it. -You need to pick the country when you first make the account. If you use a Windows Live ID like an Hotmail address, make sure the country on that is set to the one you plan on using for your Xbox Live account. You can migrate to Costa Rica on the Xbox website if it's added later.
