What should I put for special skills on my acting resume?

  • I'm 13 and creating an acting resume and I'm not sure what to put on special skills. I play guitar, I also played softball and soccer (I still can play, I'm just not on a team), and I run cross country. I also target shoot. But are those really relevant things to put on my resume? Also what other things should be there, and how many skills?

    yes put everything you can do other than acting in your special skills section. And you would make a list like this: Special Skills: guitar player (list wether it's acoustic or electric and put the level you play at), softball, soccer, cross-country team (runner), target shooting. (or something similar at the end of your resume, you can look up how to make a resume by searching google) Also put if you can sing, dance (all the levels, if you do ballet list your level) also put all the other styles and levels you can do like musical theatre, modern, jazz, hip hop. And also in your training section list the dance studio, your level and your teacher. And put down if you've taken any acting classes, at your school or at a acting studio. And again put the course name, level and teacher. Hope this helps!

The sort of thing they really want are singing grades, dance grades in several styles, foreign languages spoken, accents mastered, acrobatics, etc. But for your age - you're doing well. Just make sure that your training includes more than school classes - weekly attendance at a good acting school is essential. You also need as much as experience as possible in anything you can get. Have you had training in singing or dancing? Can you juggle? The ability to play the guitar is relevant. I imagine the sports would be relevant because you're in shape and if you sing you won't get out of breath as easy.
