How do I get in to college if I can't do math and refuse to?
-
Math is not my thing - I discovered that recently, and nothing will change it - ever. Math is all logic, and logic varies, so it's not logical. I don't want to hear "Get a tutor" or "Go to this site *insert site here*"; I'm done with it. I can not succeed with math, I'm paying nobody to fail teaching me, me to lose money, and no website I've ever been to can simply math enough for me to be able to effectively "get it". And I mean ALL forms of math above absolute basics. I don't like college anyways, but even if I wanted to go I can't. You need either a diploma(can't get one, refuse to socialize in high-school settings, confused on how I must get one, and not bothering). You need a G.E.D.(Algebra is required, and that's not going to happen, or ever be possible). Let's just say that I've tried learning mathematics for well over five years, and to no avail; it's not just wired in my brain to be done beyond basics. I'm very limited with math and many other skills, and that will not change, and knowing myself in my own entirety I can assure EVERYONE that I will never succeed in math, and that's not me holding myself back, but a fact from trial and error my whole life, and every angle for help I could get. If I can't get a G.E.D. or high school diploma I can't go to college, and if college requires courses that involve Algebra I can't do it either. I'm worried about what kind of jobs to get, because nowadays people make it seem like you need to a college degree to get a job at McDonalds.

Answer:
"I don't want to hear "Get a tutor" or "Go to this site *insert site here*"" I am sick of this too.Nobody wants to or know how to address the elephant in the room called memory. People treat memory like it is some kind of mystical uncontrollable problem and ignores it. No one is actually "bad" at math. The school system's lack of a proper repetition system is the root cause of math anxiety for a lot of people. Math is cumulative and requires a properly maintained repetition system to build off of. A spaced repetition system is the most effective way to deal with the forgetting curve in math. The people who are "good" at math just have more repetition of math. Their extra repetition compensates for the lack of a proper repetition system. Read these Wikipedia articles. I suggest you get some cheap used textbooks off of amazon, teach yourself, and use a spaced repetition system. google: "Algebra Acrostic Dictionary for Spaced Repetition Systems" google: "Geometry Acrostic Dictionary for Spaced Repetition Systems" google: "English Grammar Acrostic Dictionary for Spaced Repetition Systems" google: Memory and Learning: Myths and Facts wikipedia: forgetting curve, Active recall, Anki, Spaced repetition, Spacing effect
