How do i test my internet connection speed for steam?
-
Is it the download speed? i did a test on sppedtest.com got 6.2, if that's the speed im sposed to test how do i change it to k?

Answer:
One Megabit is exactly 125 Kilobytes. If you want the speed in Kilobytes per second (KB/s) to use for steam, just multiply that number by 125 with windows calculator, or in your head once you get used to it. 6.2 Megabits on speedtest is 775 Kilobytes / sec. You have a decent speed for steam, but since steam downloads directly from their service and does not support p2p, the speeds you see on speedtest may not apply completely to steam.

you have kilobits and megabits, not to be confused with kilobytes and megabytes. A 1 megabit connection will be about 1000 kilobits. Here is a link to a conversion calculator. http://www.unitconversion.org/data-storage/megabits-to-kilobits-conversion.html
Myth
