How to calculate the probability problem?

How to calculate the probability that mean of a sample taken from an infinite population lies between 2 values?

  • How to calculate the probability that mean of a sample of size, say n, which has been taken from an infinite population(whose mean and s.d are known) lies between two specified values? Right now i know the method to estimate the confidence interval on mean using T distrubution,if it is anywhere close to the solution of the above problem...

  • Answer:

Vikrantsingh Thakur - Since you know the population s.d., use the Standard Normal distribution. Hope that helps
