  Your hair might not take a blonde colour that you want as it needs to strip the hair of your dark colour in order for it to place the blonde colour in your hair. A wash in hair colour might not be strong enough for the colour blonde you want. You could try highlights only a few with a brush to see how your hair takes. You can get them from pound shops or supermarkets. Only do a few enough for you to notice so your hair colour can not change that much if you don't like it. Remember highlights are permanent but will grow out after a month and there will only be a few of them. You can have them as thick or as thin as you like just make sure you follow the instructions and do a skin test for any reactions. Happy hair colouring.
