What is a good 80s themed party food?

80s themed party help 10points?

  • I'm having a 13th birthday party in June and it's 80s theme and yes I know it's a long time from now but I want it to be BIG but I don't know what to do. Please give me song names and the artist, what food I should serve and that includes the drinks, party favors, decor, games, ect. And also some ideas that I can use for people who didn't have a costume so like things that I could just pull out of the closet. And most importantly what I should wear, the hair, makeup, outfit, and shoes. And again most important to the event The final cost. Thank you! :) btw the party is at my house

I'm planning an 80's themed party for my 21st, and that's not till November 2013 :') But basically, the 80's are best known for being vibrant and exciting. Style-wise, there was a lot of big backcombed hair, neon colours etc. Make-up you need bright eye-shadow, usually blue with bright pink lipstick. Neon nails. Clothing, if you are thinking of typical 80's, most people think neon legwarmers with heels, shorts and maybe a vest top with some kind of 80's logo (Think of things like Pacman, My Little Pony, Ghostbusters, video games etc). Music that is typically 80's, try Googling artists such as Berlin - Take My Breath Away, Europe - The Final Countdown, David Bowie, Blondie, Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams, Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Relax, Wham - Wake Me Up (Before You Go Go), Olivia Newton John - Physical, Madonna, there was a bit of ABBA and Michael Jackson in the 80's too. As you're only 13, anything can go food + drink wise except the alcohol, have fizzy drinks such as Cola, Cherryade and Fanta, you can eat cupcakes, cocktail sausages, sausage rolls etc, proper party food. Can't really think of many games except Pin The Tail on the Donkey (or some variation), 80's is generally suited to a disco style party :) Hope some of this helps and have an amazing night!! xo

I'm going to start with your outfit part of the question. The 80s were all about leggings, crop tops, and leg warmers all in neon colors. You can EASILY find these things at any costume shop, sometimes claire's, and many clothing stores. But that's more costume. For authentic, the top 10 styles were shoulder pads, Mini skirts, BIG earrings, Leg warmers, fingerless gloves, Parachute pants, members only jackets, One size fits all units, Stretched stirrup pants and oversized tops Now for food, there are many places (especially online) that sell nostalgic candy (which means it's from that time period if you didn't know). Many of these things are around still. Nerds, now&later, dots, Big league chew, bubble gum cigars, Lemonheads, pixy stix and more are some examples. For hair it was high ponytails to the side and big bangs, asymmetrical styles, And mullets (I know right!) Now popular games from the 80s include The atari, rubix cube, Donkey kong, tetris, etc... If you need more help just ask :)
