How do I become an English tutor?

Please read, could I become a part time English tutor?? UK?

  • I'm eighteen and I have a gcse in English language and literature at grade A, and I am finishing my A level English literature and i am hoping to get an A..when I start university (doing a non English course) in September hopefully I would really like to teach English privately! I could only teach 11+ and gcse obviously. Yes or no? Is it realistic and a good idea? Thank you!! If yea, please give me tips on how to become one (like advertisement and stuff)

  • Answer:

Yes, you could. And don't also forget the idea of teaching English as a Foreign language as well. Often this is a lot easier to get into (depending where you are) and you can build up a good network of private students here.
