What kind of video camera & equipment should I get to film my web series?

  Any serious action or movement in your video, I would avoid a HD camcorder like oil avoids water if that is the case. I would use a MiniDV tape camcorder. For action films, they take the best video. If you get a Consumer level HD camcorder, they interpolate the videos they take. To put it in short, you have a HD camcorder and shoot a video. It is 1000 frames long. Of those 1000 frames, 800 you did not record, the camcorder made for you. for every frame you shot, the camera's internal electronic circuitry put 5 or 6 or more frames between every frame you shot. HD camcorders do this for every video they take. That is near impossible footage to edit in any NLE program. A MiniDV tape camcorder, depending on the NLE you use, the most you will need is a Graphics card installed in your computer. Canon still makes MiniDV tape camcorders.
