What are the pros and cons of foreign aid?

What are some pros and cons of the U.S. sending aid to Africa? ?

  • I know alot of people think its a waste of money, and I know most of the cons already,but what I really need are some pros, besides saving kids lives. This is for a debate in school and I am on the pro side. Answes are greatly appreciated :)

    Really, where kids are concerned, you shouldn't need anything else. Every con argument can be answered with "Really? And THAT'S more important than saving kids lives?" Also, if the kids grow up without aid from the richest country on the planet, they might deeply resent us. And then maybe some whacko gets them to believe that we're the Great Satan and tells them if they fly planes into our buildings they will go to heaven and save the lives of millions of kids, kids the Great Satan would let die.
