Can you have a degree in just Legal Research and Writing?

Will getting my Bachelor's Degree pay off soon? Regarding time commitment.?

  • I'm 24 right now and am a full time college student. I take about 15 units worth of classes per semester. I'm like half ways done. I'm about to get my Associates Degree this Summer and transfer to a university next spring. I know I will finish and be proud when I graduate. Yet the one thing that I feel is somewhat tough on me is that I don't go out a lot. I do here and there but not every weekend. I'm not big on alcohol. Yet I see many of my friends and cousins go out all the time (at least 4 times/week) while I'm at home, studying, doing h.w, writing essays, and research papers for my college degree. Helping my folks out around the house. Most of my friends and cousins don't go to college but the ones that do, only take 2 classes per semester, yet they don't seem like they want to be there nor succeed. I don't think they take college seriously, not from what I've seen and when I talk to them regarding our educational goals. I take 5 classes/semester because I want to finish fast. At times I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of things. Don't get me wrong I do go out here and there, concerts, bars, wine tasting, Movies, and like to visit different towns I've never been too. Yet sometimes it's hard for me to do some of those things because I'm a broke college student. My friends and cousins all have nice cars, bmws, benz, nice trucks, all new. The thing is that the automobiles my colleagues have were all given to them, 'HANDED' to them by their parents. I'm not jealous nor have a grudge on them for what they have. It just ticks me off sometimes that they boast about how they have super nice cars which they didn't even pay for and they make it seem like they're badass as opposed to others. My colleagues are given everything, even designer clothing and they never help out there folks in anyway as far as I've seen. They seem unappreciative. I have an old Toyota I received as a late high school graduation gift. (My folks ain't rich and helped me out and gave me everything they could to help me get through college) My point is that I'm not jealous and I know that life isn't fair and is really difficult, but after receiving my BA degree. I want to do things that I can't really do now. It's hard sometimes to want to go out but knowing you have huge papers due and finals coming up in about 2 weeks it's tough. I don't want to do the same things my colleagues do time after time. I want to travel the world and have a few drinks in different city's and meet different people. I don't want to be going to the same places my colleagues go to year after year. That seems kind of pathetic and hopefully when I get my Career going being an Airline Pilot for a major airline here in the US (I know it takes time) on my days off have the chance to do great things and travel for free. I do the best I can with what I have and have never been given high end materialistic things, I don't need them to be happy. So all in all, I just want to know if my degree will pay off sometime soon in life, even with the economy being down right now I have hope things will change someday and hopefully I get to do things that I can't do right now. Will it pay off someday? I will appreciate any thoughtful answers I receive, Gracias.
