How to concentrate while studying for a test?

How to concentrate on studying?

  • I'm 14 and I take studying seriously. But lately, I just can't concentrate. I just find myself thinking about other things and in 2 hours I got like 3 questions done. :/ I'm really disappointed in myself and I really want to do well as my results won't soo good last term. I have a clean studying room that is quite and neat. I get lots of privacy and i have a cup of water next to me usually. I also have a Math test on thursday which is REALY important. Please help me!!! I NEED to CONCENTRATE! And some tips for studying for a math test??

It's been proven in a collage study, if you study for long time periods you will only remember the first 10 minutes and the last 10 minutes. So instead of just sitting and studying, do 10 minutes of studying then do something. And do 10 more minutes of studying, just keep doing this until you feel you've got everything you need to know.

what works for me is to turn off the computer, phone, ipod and everything else otherwise i get distracted. sit down at your desk and set yourself a realistic goal, like 3 questions in half an hour then i can have a break for 10 minutes and get back to studying or something like that. try different methods: reading aloud, reading silently, writing it out numerous times, read and recite, drawing diagrams and mind-maps - you'll eventually figure out what works best for you. for me, its a combination of writing lines and reading aloud its also helpful to start studying at least 3 days before. if you study 1 hour each day for 3 days before your test, instead of 3 hours the night before, you will retain much more content and also have time to ask for help if you don't understand something. for me, studying for maths, i do lots and lots of questions and learn from that. its the only way to learn properly as you see what mistakes you make and which concepts you struggle with the most. hope this helps :)

I'm the same as you. So much stuff to study for, but I just can't focus sometimes. What I like to do is put on some music, preferably classical or a song in a language you can't understand and then use it as a way to block out thoughts. Another thing I do is study in little breaks. I promise myself to study diligently for half an hour and then take a ten minute break before studying again for another half hour. Studying in little bursts really help with concentration. Also, what kind of thoughts are you thinking about? Say, if you're a facebook addict and can't stop thinking about updating your status, use this to your advantage. Promise yourself 10 minutes of facebook for every half hour or 45 minutes you study. As for studying for a maths test, the only thing I can tell you is to practice. Understanding math concepts means that you actually have to do lots and lots of questions, so if you have a assessment book for math or something, that might help here. Also, for certain types of questions that appear often, you could write them down in a simple notebook as well as how to solve it so you have a basic understanding of how to solve a similiar problem next time. Good luck

Dear, (1).during study , don't only read ,, you should keep a pen and register , read paragraph if you find important thing , then note down, doesn't matter that you read slides but still do it. (2)but write something from what you are reading in each two minutes so that you will remain active and your mind will not divert. definitely you will get more output.,,once try. (3)Drink at least one glass water in each hour that will keep you mentally fresh and active. (3)for more con. you get go for yoga. (4).In maths rather than remember formula you have to practice more and more problems as possible so that your concepts become more clear. (5) most of the student do silly mistakes or basics fundamental mistakes, so avoid it. definitely you will be feel "" i am conc. more and my output is also more."" GOOD LUCK,,, Be dedicated to study.... study with interest.
