What are some good places to party in Philadelphia?

8th grade graduation party! planning? help!!!?

  • Im thinking of planning a graduation party for the end of 8th grade net year. im inviting both classes (co-ed boys and girls) most of the kids are 12 or 13 and theres 2 boys that are 14 1 thats 15 because they were held back a year, but thats not the point. i want to find a place to have my graduation party. i have been thinking about having it a lucky stirkes bowling lanes, orr dave and busters, but im not sure if that would be tacky and im inviting atleast 60 people i think,,, plus parents?. my school is in the philadelphia center city area and i am not sure of any venues or other places that would be cool for a fun 8th grade graduation party! i want it to be fun, cool atmosphere, everyone is having fun and chilling, talking dancing and hanging out! i do not want to have it at my house because its farther away and it might get trashed. i had my birthday party last year at this really cool club but not alot of people could make it because it was around spring break, but it was not that fun it was pretty dry. i DO NOT want my graduation party to be that way and i want it so that everyone will want to go! i thought it would be cool if, for the boys (nd girls if you play) there was a lounge section where there could be wii's and x'boxes, but i only have 1 wii and not that many fun cool games. AND! should people wear casual? or semiformal? and how should i send out the invitatons? i think through paper invitations might be tacky, but i do think it would be cool to send it through emails, phonecalls. word of mouth, and texts! i want there to be good refreshments and snacks, fun activities, and for everyone to have a great awesome time! i also need ideas for places available in the philadelphia (pref. center city) area to have a party for about maybe 70 people if EVERYONE goes which i doubt (vacations, family dinners blah, blah) also, im 13 a girl and in 7th grade btw, so anyways, prettymuch anything would help! thanks guys! x ;)

I say do it at the bowling alley. That way you can just hang out, play games, talk, eat and it won't feel too crowded. There are always pretty good refreshments there, so if everyone brings money for themselves to eat, that's a good idea. Unless you're really rich, I wouldn't spend much on this, since you're inviting 60 people. Your parents would be really overwhelmed, PLUS this is just an 8TH grade party.. I didn't even have a party for my 8th grade graduation. I mean, we went out for ice cream and stuff, but that's all. Spend little money on this party, and save most of it for your high school graduation. Semi formal dressing would be more fun, but casual might be more comfortable for everyone. I'd stick with casual, since you might go bowling. Stick with email, phone calls, word of mouth, and texts. With technology nowadays, inviting people is so much cheaper. Paper invitations are good for High school grad partys, though. For where you're going, I think the best thing is to ask your parents. They'll know the best places that are kid friendly, and okay money wise. Have you told them about your grad party yet? If not, do that immediately, otherwise none of this will ever happen. Ask them where they think would be the cheapest, yet most fun place available in your city.
