How do I delete items in my directory?

I have a movie in my downloads folder which when i delete says"Discovering items" then,?

I have a movie in my downloads folder which when i delete says"Discovering items" then after a while it stops and then it says windows explorer is restarting and it restarts......I am experiencing this problem with one particular folder and when i try to delete ANY other folder in the downloads folder it deletes easily...but this folder does not.....when i open it and delete the VIDEO file in it ,it says the same thing--"Discovering items" then after a while it stops and then it says windows explorer is restarting and it restarts...It is quite irritating as i have a 3.07GHz msi dual core cpu with 2GB RAM and windows 7 ...I did'nt expect this .!!! What should i dO???!!!
