Do You Think He Will Give me a Second Chance for a First Impression?

• My crush spoke to me for the first time a few days ago.. we were a part of the same group (me him and 5 other people) and we had to discuss this quote and everybody was SO intelligent in that group, in the way they spoke and let their thoughts out and I felt intimidated because Im not good at speaking my thought as I am of writing them... so I kept quiet to not interrupt their deep philosophical thought, and on the other hand, most of the things that they came up with I happened to agree with. It was a really controversial topic and I dont have a "set opinion" on controversial things, Im really open minded and can easily argue against either side, and agree with either side as I see the pros and cons in both sides. Anyways, his first words to me were " what are your thought" and I think he said that because he noticed that I was being kind of quiet and not contributing much... and just nodding.. so like an IDIOT I told him that " Im kind of agreeing with everything being said" which made me look like a complete idiot and mindless sheep, like a follower!! and I felt like he thought Im unoriginal and incapable of giving my deep analysis (which I CAN do but I usually have all my thought in my head and dont say much... thats just who I am) and he said something like " Oh, thats awesome" in this disappointed and sarcastic tone as in " oh, your answer is SO unique" (sarcastically) and I asked him what HIS thoughts were and he just *sighed* and didnt say anything... o.o WHICH MADE ME THINK that I messed up even MORE. THAT was his first impression of me, and i totally blew it!!! Hes SO smart, and such a good speaker and thinker and everything, and I just made myself look dumb, and stupid..... and I know (from a source) that he liked SMART girls, and I AM smart!! I think he thought that before because I always get good grades in class, and I may be quiet but when I say something its usually something thats right on point, and I do well grade wise and I have a great memory, and Im strongest in science and math.. but How would he believe that IF his experience with trying to see my intelligence totally failed because of me?? He must think Im an idiot .... do you think he'll give me a second chance? I know hes attracted to me physically, but will me not seeming too smart around him be a big turn off, and will he possibly want nothing to do with me after my stupid answer??

  Okay, you are reading wayyy too much into this. I know exactly how you feel with the whole agreeing with everything thing. But, I also know how school is... sometimes people just don't have an opinion and that's fine, sometimes people aren't even paying attention and zone off. He probably didn't think too much about it. If I were him, I probably thought you weren't paying attention. So, this is good because you can easily impress him the next time you are around him. If he mentions anything about it or if you want to clear your name, you could always say something like, Yeah--sometimes I zone off in this class...or, turn it into a positive thing, say something like, I'm really good at seeing both sides of things so sometimes I just like to listen to how other people make their point..or I'm really open minded..things don't always have to be black and white. He might like that you are open to discussion.
