  • Answer:

new does not always mean better and old does not always mean classic. Table top rpgs like Warhammer and Dungeon and Dragons are fun if you have the time and enough freinds who are nerdy enough. Card games are great, Magic the Gathering and Bang! are ones I am familiar with. some old PC strategies are Civilization I, II, III, IV, V and do not forget Sid Meiers Alpha Centauri. New ones I know of are mostly indie games, so check the steam and desura shops, since indie game developers tend to release games in only digital forms, ( www.indieroyale.com is cheap and fun sometimes). Actually, I heard Portal and Portal 2 are good, but I have not tried them. Strategy games will make you think, and many games before even my time were based on this principle. However, now I prefer games for entertainment and just read books for my learning (yeah I am a REAL old guy). But games can help you socialize if you play with a good community of players. The Dungeons and Dragons community, even though they get a lot of negative bull**** about them, are actually very intellegent and educated individuals who strive to be better improv artists, joksters, and story tellers ( example: "I want to be a driud that can transform into a bear. Therefore I can be a bear that rides on a bear, and that summons bears. A swarm of f***ing BEARS will destroy everything"). Card game communities are a little more casual and more competative in the game, so the jokes they make involve things that the game my remind them of (like this socercer is really a woman and yet she is called a socerer!!!! womans rights lol!!!!!) . WOW and WOW like games like LOL, HON, and DOTA communities never see each other that often, (haha, stereotype), but they sure know their stuff, at least with the stragesies of game play. The point is that the games you play should build up your other skills like Math, History, Science, as well asSports, Art, Music, Literature. Hey, even if your games teach you Comparative Religion, then I would say go for it, because that is useful. If you are offended by a game, try to understand it instead of ignoring it and critiziing it, or you will turn into the people that blamed Dungeons and Dragons for every bull**** of the eighties.

i would highly recommend shogun 2 and even better the DLC shogun 2:Fall Of The samurai these are RTS games or real-time strategy games and are great for a game if you want to control armies and see all out war and there is a whole collection of these called total war series there are many games in different periods such as total war:rome, total war:shogun 2, total war:empire, etc. and for DLC in some you dont have to have the original game so i highly recommend these strategy games
